Post Pop Artistic Clash Talks About the Stigma Associated with Mental HealthA collection of poems about anxiety, depression, and the stigma that comes with it.

January 19, 2023 - Tony Tones Earley’s debut book is a collection of poems that talk about the stigma related to mental health. He addresses and talks about the ups and downs of life, how depression affects the mind, and the ugly connotations associated with depression.

He then talks about how creativity can provide hope and motivation to those who are struggling to find their place in society. He talks about his own struggles, and how finding a purpose through Art Therapy, poetry and music helped him.

Depression can affect people of all ages, genders and backgrounds.

Approximately 280 million people in the world have depression. Globally, it is estimated that 5% of adults suffer from depression. More than 19% of adults reported that they had been diagnosed with depression at some point in their lives, including postnatal depression.

The prevalence of depression in UK adults is estimated to be 4.5%. Mild depression accounts for 70% of all cases. Moderate depression accounts for 20% and severe depression, 10%.

The total number of people living with depression increased by 18.4% between 2005 and 2015 in the UK, and there have been predictions that the number will increase in the future as well.

“After Covid19 hit, people were forced to isolate themselves from others and this led to an increase in depression among individuals of all ages. You couldn’t go out and meet your friends. You couldn’t do anything. Depression is a deadly disease and when it hits you, you don’t even know what’s coming. I wrote this collection of poems for those who are looking for support during tough times,” commented Earley, talking about how the Pandemic made individuals of all ages feel sad, depressed, and isolated, and how he hopes his book helps those who need emotional support.

The is available for purchase on Amazon and Kindle.
