$1B renewable energy project expected to create 700 jobs in Caldwell, Hays counties

Chem-Energy Corp., a California-based petroleum trading firm and energy company, plans to invest $1 billion in a pair of solar power and battery facilities. Officials call it the largest ever economic development project, in terms of capital expenditure, for the region south of Austin.
