Organizers have announced this year’s Quad Cities, Iowa Danny Joe Memorial Golf Tournament returns June 25, 2021 after a hiatus in 2020. The charity event will be held at Palmer Hills.

Key Mortgage Group, Davenport, Iowa has announced the date for the Danny Joe Memorial Golf Tournament. The charity event tees off Friday June 25, 2021 at the Palmer Hills Golf Course.

The announcement marks the 24th year of the well-attended community event. Although not held in 2020, the fund-raiser attracted record participation and donations the prior year.
The 2019 annual event brought in $18,000 to benefit the non-profit Children’s Cancer Connection, headquartered in Des Moines.
For more than 30 years, the Children’s Cancer Connection has held recreational and other community programs to connect and support families affected by childhood cancer.
The organization’s Camp Heart Connection summer retreat is among its events tailored for kids with cancer. The experience also includes activities for their siblings.
The Children’s Cancer Connection summer camp was a favorite of Danny Joe Cornish, in whose honor the golf outing is held. Danny, the son of Kelly and Billie Cornish, passed away at age six after battling cancer.
Danny’s enjoyment of the camp has been experienced by countless other youngsters over the years because of the participation and contributions of the charity golf tournament registrants and sponsors.
Among the sponsors of this year’s return of the tournament is Key Mortgage Group. The mortgage lender specializes in assisting first-time home buyers and veterans in the Hawkeye State.

The golf tournament organizers encourage sponsors, and individual and team registrants, to sign up for this year’s return of the event, which includes snacks, lunch, raffles and a closing ceremony. Registration takes place at 8:00 a.m. prior to the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The venue, Palmer Hills Golf Course, Bettendorf, Iowa, was designed by William J. Spear and is known for its century-old oak trees and rolling landscape. Teeing options are available for players of all levels.
