Luxury Travel Firm, Arburton, Now Accepts Cryptocurrency Payments

London-based luxury travel company, Arburton, is delighted to confirm that customers will now be able to make payments using cryptocurrencies.

May 14, 2021 / /

Arburton, a luxury travel concierge business, will accept cryptocurrencies in a bid to provide customers with a diverse range of payment options. As one of the first travel companies in the UK to accept cryptocurrency payments, the move marks an exciting new development for Arburton and its UK-based and international clients.

The new payment technology will allow clients to pay for yacht charters, private jets, luxury holidays and unique vacation experiences with cryptocurrency.

Founded by Aruna Shah, Arburton has a global client base and more than 30 years of experience within the concierge and luxury travel sector. Specialising in tailored lifestyle services, luxury travel, itinerary management, hospitality and high-end goods, Arburton is moving with the times, embracing innovative technology to provide customers with an array of payment options.

The pandemic has caused widespread disruption within the travel industry and like many other companies operating within the sector, Arburton has been badly affected by restrictions and travel bans. Despite the challenges, the team has used lockdown to develop the business and prepare for the summer when travel is expected to resume in the UK.

Speaking about the introduction of cryptocurrency payments, Aruna Shah suggested that the move follows a simple philosophy, “We believe that travel is the ultimate freedom of life, which is why it is fitting that our customers should have a larger choice of payment methods.”

“We’ve been focusing on giving our clients the VIP treatment from day one, so it makes sense to move with the times and accept cryptocurrencies, which will allow us to access an entirely new client base also.”

“Cryptocurrency is on everyone’s lips. Just last month, Bitcoin reached over $60,000 and it has increased ninefold year-on-year. It’s no surprise that big companies are coming to embrace crypto, and it’s only going to get more important in our clientele as well.”

Arburton is believed to be among the first UK travel companies to implement Utrust payment technology and enable clients to pay for trips and services using cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Previously, these types of technologies came with high costs for businesses looking to convert cryptocurrencies to cash but with Utrust, companies can convert funds instantly. Utrust CEO, Sanja Kon, said, “20 years ago, it was very weird for anyone to think they would pay with credit cards online. Technology moves fast.”
