These veteran entertainers thinks it is time for a funny show about cruising and that you can never have too many Finkels.
PRLog - Aug 02, 2013 - KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Tom Drake, writer/producer of the new cruise ship comedy Best at Sea announced today that Emmy award winning actor Fyvush Finkel has agreed to play the role of the celebrity judge for the taping of the pilot episode of this show about five entertainers who are hired to stage a talent competition at sea.

The New Jersey born comedian said “it did take some time for my people to reach out to his people. Well, honestly, I asked his son Ian who plays the role of the “Fixer” on the show if he would ask his Dad to be the judge. Fyvush said yes. He is doing me a big favor by agreeing to help in this project. He is a legendary actor and he will be great in this role”.

Fyvush Finkel is best known for his role as lawyer Douglas Wambaugh on the television series Picket Fences, for which he earned an Emmy Award. He is also known for his portrayal of Harvey Lipschultz on the TV series Boston Public.

Finkel's breakthrough came at the age of 43 when he joined Jerome Robbins' national company of the Broadway hit "Fiddler On the Roof." He toured the USA and Canada, playing first the Innkeeper, then the Butcher and finally the lead, Tevya, over a 12-year period. His additional theater credits include an Obie-winning performance in "Cafe Crown" and a five-year stint as the star of Off-Broadway's "Little Shop of Horrors."

Finkel has appeared in the feature films "Nixon," "For Love or Money," "Mobsters," "Seize the Day" and "Q&A." His additional television credits include the revival of "Fantasy Island," "Early Edition," "One Life to Live," "Evergreen," "Prime of Your Life" and "The Simpsons."

Tom Drake, David Sayh, Elliot Finkel, Ian Finkel and Michael Minor all play themselves in this comedy about five entertainers who are hired to stage the talent competition portion of a reality show being filmed onboard a cruise ship.  Each episode will feature hilarious clean comedy, performances by two of the award winning acts performing at sea and a celebrity judge.

Drake has followed Spike Lee, Adam Carolla, Nick Carter and James Franco into the world of crowd funding as he seeks funds to film the pilot episode on Kickstarter. Drake adds “right now, I have a great cast, a legendary guest star, a very funny pilot script and a very fresh idea for television, but like many people with a great idea, I need money.”  Drake feels the show will attract a large viewership just among cruisers.  He says, “This year 20 million people will take a cruise and I think they will watch a show that features life at sea. We hope to find out”.
