Major Health Issue Affects Minorities More than Caucasians

High blood sugar levels, a serious health danger, affect Native Americans, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asian Americans more than the Caucasian population.
“More than 14 percent of Native Americans and Alaskan natives live with blood sugar problems,” said Dr. John Burd, CEO of Lysulin, Inc., a health and wellness company in San Diego. “That is almost double the rate for non-Hispanic whites.”
The rates of people diagnosed with high blood sugar levels are:
- 14.5% of American Indians/Alaskan Natives
- 12.1% of non-Hispanic blacks
- 11.8% of Hispanics
- 9.5% of Asian Americans
- 7.4% of non-Hispanic whites
“Unhealthy blood sugar levels can lead to heart disease, strokes, kidney failure, loss of limbs, and blindness,” Dr. Burd said. “What is even more dangerous is that 8.5 million people don’t even know they have a serious health issue.”
Dr. Burd, a Ph.D. and biochemist, said everyone, especially people who are overweight, should have their blood sugar levels checked by their family physician.
“Your doctor can administer an eight-hour fasting blood sugar level test and an A1C test, which gives you a three-month average,” he added. “Depending on how high your blood sugar levels are, your doctor will probably suggest a low-carb diet, exercise, or prescribe prescription drugs.”
Dr. Burd suggested that people talk to their doctors about Lysulin, a dietary supplement that helps maintain healthy blood sugar and A1C levels, and insulin function.
“We have clinical studies that show Lysulin helps many people with blood sugar problems,” he added. “Our three main ingredients are Lysine, Vitamin C, and Zinc, which research indicates can help people control their blood sugar levels and maintain proper insulin functions.
“We have a patented formula that maximizes the effectiveness of all three ingredients,” he said.
Lysine is an essential mineral that helps with insulin secretion and may remove sugar from the blood. Vitamin C may reduce blood glucose and increase insulin synthesis and secretion. Studies suggest Zinc can help people maintain healthy blood sugar levels and increase the body’s sensitivity to insulin.
Lysulin products include:
- Lysulin Capsules
- Lysulin Chewable tablets
- Lysulin Once-a-Day Powder
- Lysulin Liquid
- Lysulin Chocolate and Vanilla Shakes
Lysulin Capsules and Powder are available at select CVS and Walmart stores.
“There is a high blood sugar level epidemic in the United States that everyone, especially people of color, should take seriously,” Dr. Burd said. “Our Lysulin dietary supplement may help many of these people.”
