This strategic acquisition adds complementary competencies and capacity to Inframark's Automation and Intelligence (A&I) group, which provides advanced automation and intelligence solutions through robust supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) capabilities and services. The addition of the SEI team brings the A&I group to over 250 dedicated professionals and augments Inframark's existing Virginia-based A&I presence, which was created in 2021, when InstruLogic joined Inframark.
"Without a doubt, the SEI team brings immediate value, enhanced service offerings, and an incredibly talented team to Inframark," said Greg Guard, Inframark's Chief Strategy Officer and President of the firm's A&I group. "We are excited to join forces with such an established, well-respected industry leader and look forward to combining our capabilities to bring a new level of service and solutions to our customers."
Founded in 1993, SEI is a leader in process control systems, custom panel and drives manufacturing, and high-end installation services, including motor control centers (MCC). The firm's customer base is primarily in the water and wastewater industry, with a significant focus on recognized municipal and regional water authorities. SEI specializes in turnkey pump and lift station new builds, rehabilitations, and retrofits. The firm's flagship Hampton, Virginia facility houses state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, an extensive inventory of customer parts, and a full-service team. SEI holds Class A and Unlimited Electrical Licenses in both Virginia and North Carolina, respectively.
SEI Founder and President Buck McLaughlin commented, "This strategic move marks an exciting next chapter for our team, allowing us to grow and enhance services for our clients and partners – taking our business to the next level. We believe we have found an ideal partnership with the Inframark team, one that will enable us to continue to grow and solve clients' technical needs, leveraging Inframark's resources and expanded offerings. I am pleased to be staying on in a leadership capacity, along with the entire SEI team, to support this next stage in our company's evolution."
"The addition of SEI to the Inframark family of companies adds substantial scale to our Automation and Intelligence business and strengthens our footprint in the important Mid-Atlantic region, where Inframark conducts considerable operations. Inframark has been thoughtfully adding strategic client-facing capabilities in recent years across the entire business. Each new partnership has been a methodical step in our overall strategy, helping us deliver greater value and impact to our clients, employees, and communities than ever before," said Jim Irwin, Inframark's Executive Vice President of Corporate Development.
