A new, local storytelling project, “The Faces of Spokane”, has been announced.

-- The new project seeks to celebrate and highlight the unique members of Spokane’s vibrant community by sharing their stories and celebrating their contributions. Each week, the voices behind the project will select one individual to interview and profile in sessions hosted by local entrepreneur Lynn Sebert.

Sebert was inspired to create this project in the face of the unprecedented fracturing of communities around the world. With over half of Americans reporting that they only know one or two of their neighbors and far fewer reporting deep connections to those around them, it is clear that projects like this are essential in repairing these divides.
While she currently resides in Nordman, Idaho, Sebert was born and raised in Spokane, and still maintains a deep reverence for the community through her wholesale distribution company. On the project’s website, she shares a few of her favorite things about Spokane, including the Lilac Festival, the sprawling Riverfront Park, and more.
In the debut interview of the project, Sebert sat down with Todd Summers, a local brewery owner and a member of the Spokane community for 27 years. In the interview, he shared his passion for his craft and his appreciation for those in his life who have made it possible for him to work his dream job—one which he anticipates having for many years to come.
In the second of the two initial interviews, the host met with Dr. Sadie Hargrove, a professor of electrical engineering. In her interview, the professor shared her gratitude toward the residents of Spokane for embracing her ambitions, which allowed her to live out her passions while also building a family.
To quote Sebert directly, “The Faces of Spokane is a celebration of all the people who live here and positively impact our community in some way. It may be by their positive attitude and energy. It may be by the business they’ve brought to our community. It may be their role directly serving our community. The reality is, we have a great community because of the people who live here and it’s my desire to highlight the great people here and introduce you all to each other.”
The Faces Of Spokane is accepting nominations for future interviews through the form on their website. Locals who would like to highlight the unique stories of those around them should visit the link below for more information on how to submit a name.
