Toronto French-Speaking Aerospace Engineers Work Permit | Lawyer Guide Launched

In a bid to raise awareness about Canada’s Francophone Mobility Program, a Toronto lawyer (647 342 0568) launches a new guide.

Ivan Steele Law, which specializes in immigration, family, and gay and lesbian law, has released a new guide covering the Francophone Mobility Program (Mobilité Francophone Canada) which enables French-speaking immigrants in skilled occupations to obtain a work permit outside of Quebec.

In the new guide, Ivan Steele explains that applicants can obtain a work permit if they have a job offer in a skilled occupation such as aeronautics, finance, information technology, and multimedia.

“You can apply even if you live in a country where French is not normally spoken and your first language is any language other than French,” explains Ivan Steele. “You should, however, take Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) or Test de connaissance du français (TCF) to have your language abilities assessed. You will need to score CLB 7 for each of the four abilities: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.”

Aside from being open to anyone who speaks French fluently, the program also shortens the immigration process and reduces costs for the employer by bypassing the standard Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) requirement, which can be a complex and time-consuming process.

According to the guide, there is no age limit for applicants and they can apply for the work permit at the same time as their spouse or common-law partner. Additionally, their children may attend primary and secondary schools in Canada. Along with said benefits, compared to International Experience Canada, this lesser-known process also makes it easier for foreign nationals to obtain permanent residence.

While the application process is more straightforward and has fewer requirements than Canada’s other immigration programs, the guide advises applicants to consult an immigration lawyer to ensure they meet all requirements.

“Our law firm can evaluate the applicants to determine if they qualify, guide them through the requirements of the process, and help them navigate ever-changing rules and regulations,” says Ivan Steele.

With the new guide, Ivan Steele Law aims to raise awareness about this often overlooked immigration program and assist French-speaking applicants in successfully obtaining their work permits. Based in Toronto, the law firm has a proven track record in handling complex immigration cases.
