New York, NY - May 15, 2026: A mind-blowing new novel, What if….., invites readers into a world where certainty is fragile, perception is unreliable, and one unsettling question lingers long after the final page. In the restless energy of New York City, the story follows Lance Larson, a sharp yet defiant young man facing the blurred edges of adolescence. First love, quiet rebellion, and the intoxicating illusion of control. His bond with Jessica offers a rare sense of clarity in an otherwise chaotic world, while his connection to Gary Mitchell introduces a far more dangerous undercurrent. One defined by instability, paranoia, and a growing sense that something is deeply wrong.
When Gary insists that unseen forces are closing in on him, Lance dismisses it as a delusion. But as events begin to echo Gary's fears in disturbing ways, doubt takes root. The tension escalates when Jessica suddenly disappears, turning Lance's world from one of reckless freedom into a desperate search for truth. What begins as a coming-of-age narrative quickly evolves into a psychological plot, where every decision feels consequential, and every answer raises new questions.
The prose is interesting and deliberate, showing the physical landscape of the city and the inner turbulence of its characters. Lance's voice, at once confident and uncertain, anchors the narrative. It allows readers to experience the gradual erosion of his certainty in real time. The novel resists easy answers, instead offering a layered exploration of how truth is shaped by perspective, memory, and fear. At its core, the book challenges readers to confront an unsettling possibility. What if the things we dismiss as impossible are, in fact, truths we are not ready to accept?
A compelling blend of emotional depth and psychological tension, Suzanne Wetanson's latest work is a thought-provoking read that lingers. It invites reflection, unease, and ultimately, reconsideration.
