Diamond K Residential announces availability of two new water saving products designed to help Utah homeowners keep their lawns, shrubs and trees healthy during times of extreme drought. Aqua-Drive Residential soil wetting agent and Premium Prill Residential pelletized gypsum help soils absorb moisture more quickly and hold moisture longer.

The new Aqua-Drive Residential soil wetting agent is now formulated for homes and gardens. It’s based on Diamond K Gypsum's Aqua-Drive, the top selling agricultural soil wetting agent used in West. Key benefits include:

• Enables soils to absorb precipitation and irrigation water more quickly with less runoff.
• Drives moisture more deeply into the soil profile.
• Treats both the soil and water to drive moisture into hard to wet soils.
• Features two modes of action. First, it reduces surface tension of water droplets as much as 60 percent allowing water to be more easily absorbed. Second, it bonds to hydrophobic (hard-to-wet) soil colloids, dispersing water more deeply and more widely throughout the soil.
• Applied using a hose-end sprayer.

The new Premium Prill Residential pelletized gypsum helps increase water infiltration and deepens root structure. Key benefits include:

• Loosens dense and compacted soils.
• Leaches harmful salts.
• Reduces soil crusting.
• Increases water retention.
• Easily applied using a drop or hand spreader.

According to Allred, Aqua-Drive Residential provides fast acting water penetration and reduces water usage by 20 percent. One treatment covers 5,000 square feet and lasts 45 days. Premium Prill Residential is made of high-purity organic gypsum that enables lawns and gardens to absorb and retain more water.
