The new product transforms everyday activities into donatable dollars and gives employees full control over when and how they give.
Submittable, a leading social impact platform, today launched Impact Wallet, a first-of-its-kind employee giving solution that converts everyday activities at work into charitable dollars that employees can take with them to spend when, where, and however they like – including outside of the employee platform.
With Impact Wallet, all employee actions can now accrue giving funds – from engagement programs like wellness challenges to frequent occurrences like receiving kudos in Slack, to fully custom company milestones. The Submittable Impact Visa® Prepaid Card, a subfeature of Impact Wallet, empowers employees to take their funds anywhere they like to donate using a Visa card stored on their phone. This flexibility empowers employees to give on the go, whenever they choose.
“With Impact Wallet, we're excited to transform corporate social responsibility by making giving the common currency of all employee engagement," said Thor Culverhouse, CEO at Submittable. "This solution aligns perfectly with our core mission: to make social impact a natural, seamless part of the employee experience to foster deeper engagement, connection, and purpose in the workplace.”
Every year, $4-$7 billion in corporate matching funds go unused, revealing a significant gap in employee giving programs and highlighting the need for giving solutions that fully integrate with the employee experience. The current employee giving experience is separate from day-to-day work and comes with a high barrier of entry. Programs fail to fit employee interests or schedules. Giving platforms don’t integrate with work tools and are difficult to use. Employees wait to receive the funds they earn and are limited to who they can give to. Giving is an inconvenience, and participation rates reflect that. CECP’s 2024 Giving in Numbers report found that even though 94% of companies surveyed offered matching-gift programs, on average only 20% of employees participated in them.
Submittable’s Impact Wallet centers the employee experience and makes employee participation a seamless part of everyday work. Employees now have more choice and control over how they accrue and spend their charitable dollars. They select from a wider pool of opportunities and earn funds by participating in the activities that come naturally to them. Impact Wallet’s modern and intuitive platform makes it easy to track incoming charitable dollars and decide how to use them. Employees learn about new programs and monitor the status of their funds in the tools they already use, like Teams or Slack. And, when they’re ready, they give the way they want – by selecting one of 9.6 million vetted global charities already on the platform or giving to an organization entirely of their choosing – on the platform, online, or in person.
“Participation in corporate giving initiatives has suffered for years due to companies and employees facing the barrier of having to log into a specific product to donate. Nonprofits doing important work in our communities have suffered a result, missing out on important donation opportunities,” said Sriganesh Vitthanala, Chief Product Officer at Submittable. “Submittable is leading the charge for change with the first and only workplace-giving technology that centers the employees – not the software. These innovations not only accelerate the impact of donations but also strengthen the connection between employees, their companies, and the communities they serve.”
With this solution, Submittable is redefining CSR by seamlessly integrating it into the day-to-day, removing silos to help employees feel more connected and engaged, while simultaneously streamlining behind-the-scenes processes for CSR and HR professionals.
