Martin Promoted to COO at Bober Markey Fedorovich

Bober Markey Fedorovich (BMF, www.bmf.cpa), a national Top 200 CPA and advisory firm has promoted Sara M. Martin, PHR^®, to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

After an extensive search of more than 250 candidates, BMF’s executive committee moved to promote from within by appointing Martin to the position, a decision consistent with the firm’s emphasis on internal talent development and its strategic plan core priorities.

“As we went down the long and diligent search process, it became clear that Sara was the obvious choice for this critical role, given her own skills and experience,” said Steve C. Swann, BMF partner and executive committee member. “Sara brings a depth of understanding not only of our firm’s inner workings and people, but also of the key steps we are taking to fulfill our vision as outlined in our strategic plan.”

The COO role is an essential part of BMF’s management structure and its strategic roadmap for operations. This position will unite the firm’s existing administrative, finance, IT, marketing, client experience and HR teams into one Firm Operations department. This realignment is driven by the BMF's recent growth and will allow partners to shift many of the operational components of their work to the COO in order to remain focused on client service and strategic growth priorities.

Martin joined BMF in 2015 as an HR and Recruiting staff member and was named to lead the department as its Employee Experience Manager in 2022. She is part of the firm’s Vision Council charged with driving BMF’s Future View initiatives.

A Seven Hills resident, Sara is a graduate of John Carroll University and serves as president of the Alumni Association’s Cleveland Chapter.
