On August 29, 2013, Ciena Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Ciena Corporation, and Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), entered into a second amendment (the “Amendment”) to the agreement dated March 19, 2010 relating to Ciena’s lease of the “Lab 10” building on the former Nortel Carling Campus in Ottawa, Canada (the “Lease”). The Amendment extends the term of the Lease from March 19, 2016 to September 18, 2017, with the resulting aggregate annual payment by Ciena for this additional period to be approximately $10.9 million CAD, consisting of base rent, additional rent and operating expense obligations under the Lease. A copy of the Amendment is incorporated herein by reference to Exhibit 10.1 to this Form 8-K. Copies of the Lease and the first amendment to the Lease, along with a description of their terms, were filed by Ciena on Form 8-K on March 25, 2010 and February 14, 2012, respectively. |
