Panasonic Comments on Media Reports about Possible Purchase of

its Stake in Panasonic Electric Works and SANYO

Osaka, Japan, July 29, 2010 – Panasonic Corporation (Panasonic [NYSE: PC]), commented on the current press reports in Japan about a possible purchase of its stake in Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. and SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., and additional shares of these companies.

This announcement was not made by Panasonic, and the Company has not decided anything. We intend to inform promptly, if any such decision is made.
