The 2009 Annual Meeting of Shareholders of Forest Oil Corporation (the "Company") will be held at the Marriott Hotel, 1701 California St., Denver, CO 80202, on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. (MDT).

Proposals to be considered at the Annual Meeting:

1.: Election of two Class III directors to serve until the 2012 annual meeting of shareholders of the Company;
2.: Approval of an additional 500,000 shares for issuance under the Forest Oil Corporation 1999 Employee Stock Purchase Plan and certain administrative changes;
3.: Ratification of the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the Company's independent registered public accountants for the year ending December 31, 2009; and
4.: Consideration of such other business as may be properly brought before the meeting.

The Board of Directors recommends that you vote "FOR" each of the proposals referred to above.

The Board of Directors has fixed the close of business on March 13, 2009 as the record date (the "Record Date") for the determination of shareholders entitled to receive notice of and to vote at the Annual Meeting or any adjournment(s) thereof.
