(b) On February 21, 2012, Jesse T. Williams, Sr. tendered his resignation and notice of retirement from the FirstEnergy Board of Directors upon reaching the mandatory retirement age designated in FirstEnergy’s Corporate Governance Policies. The Board of Directors accepted his resignation which will become effective March 1, 2012. Mr. Williams will continue as a director of Jersey Central Power & Light Company.
