On May 20, 2008, Geovic Mining Corp. (“Geovic” or “The Company”, TSX:GMC) announced three key appointments:  hiring of two employees by its 60%-owned subsidiary Geovic Cameroon PLC (GeoCam) , and one employee by the Company.  GeoCam is moving toward construction of its Nkamouna Cobalt-Nickel-Manganese mine and processing facility in Cameroon, Africa.  A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
