Haikuists have created this new service out of a self-professed love for poetry, and a desire to spread that appreciation to others. They say that party favors are typically soulless and not memorable, but that poetry can capture the spirit of the event and of the moment it was written to give people a real memory to cherish.
The service, which started out as a simple exercise in poetry writing, can now be enlisted for weddings, which they say are ideal for poetry given the emotionally-charged nature of the event. They have also written haikus for yoga retreats, private parties, street festivals and more, and are open for any size of gathering.
Every guest at the event will be given the opportunity to provide a topic for a poem.
