Last week, Illumina received the 2021 STEM Corporate Pinnacle Award during Athena’s Lifting While Climbing Summit & 23rd Annual Pinnacle Awards Ceremony. Athena is committed to supporting the leadership journey for women in STEM. Their annual Pinnacle Awards honor best-in-class examples of those excelling in the recognition, promotion and mentorship of women in STEM.
In 2020, Illumina CEO, Francis deSouza, signed the CEO Action pledge, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace. The pledge recognizes the importance of companies truly representing the communities they serve, which results in improved economy, corporate performance, and employee engagement. In 2021, deSouza and Illumina also became a signatory to the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles.
In addition, Illumina continues to provide transparency on #diversity demographic data with internal employees and externally in their annual CSR report.
