December 4, 2020 – Earnest, a leading education finance company, has begun the search for its next round of winners for $50,000 in scholarships. For the Spring 2021 Semester, Earnest will award 10 $5,000 merit-based scholarships. Since 2019, Earnest has awarded almost $300,000 in scholarships with a total of 55 winners.
Now more than ever, Earnest is eager to help ease the financial stress of education. Working with students to generate custom loans or refinancing plans, Earnest is on a mission to empower people with the financial capital they need to live better lives. With their scholarship program, Earnest hopes to assist more students in achieving their educational goals and ease financial stress. To maintain the scholarship, Earnest puts a percentage of each refinanced student loan into the scholarship fund.
As part of the application process, students will submit an essay on the importance of education to them. Students can choose to write about one of two topics – how education will assist them to reach their goals or how education shaped the person that they are today.

Students – both undergraduate and graduate – enrolled at an accredited US university or college are welcome to apply. There is no minimum GPA requirement and applicants can be US citizens or permanent residents (including DACA students).
