Vancouver, British Columbia – October 5, 2026 – TheNewswire - Bighorn Metals Corp. (the “Company” or “Bighorn”) is pleased to announce its proposed fall 2026 exploration work program at the Loljuh porphyry copper-gold project (the “Loljuh Project” or the “Project”), located approximately 40 kilometres south of Smithers, British Columbia.
The proposed program is designed to build on historical exploration and the Company’s 2025 field program to further evaluate priority copper-gold targets identified through geological mapping, rock and soil sampling, and field observations.
-
The Loljuh Project contains seven known mineralized zones, including the Loljuh Stock and Pete zones, as well as skarn, stockwork and copper-bearing vein occurrences.
-
Exploration at Loljuh dates back to 1969 and has included geological mapping, geochemical and geophysical surveys, rock and soil sampling, and airborne magnetic and radiometric survey.
-
The 2025 exploration program identified numerous gold, copper and zinc anomalies in soil, as well as several areas where rock grab samples returned anomalous metal values. Results included 237 ppb Au, 65.5 g/t Ag and 2.49% Cu in sample 280685 and 5,750 ppm Cu in sample 304134.
The proposed fall 2026 exploration program will focus on priority areas identified through historical exploration and the Company’s 2025 geological mapping, rock sampling and soil geochemistry results.
Seven priority spot anomalies have been recommended for trenching and follow-up sampling. In addition, five target areas have been identified for infill soil sampling, with both lines and sample stations spaces at 25-metre intervals. Depending on field observations and results, these areas may also be considered for hand trenching.
The Company also plans to re-examine selected rock sample locations that previously returned significant values. Where warranted, these locations will be hand-trenched and resampled to provide additional geological and geochemical information and help refine priority targets for subsequent exploration.
Loljuh Project - Geological Setting and Exploration History
The Loljuh Project is located approximately 40 kilometres south of Smithers, British Columbia, and has a history of exploration dating back to 1969. Exploration has included geological mapping, geochemical and geophysical surveys, rock and soil sampling, and airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys.
The property is underlain predominantly by Lower Jurassic volcanic rocks intruded by the Loljuh Stock of the Lower Cretaceous Bulkley Intrusive Suite. Historical and more recent exploration has identified seven known mineralized zones, including the Loljuh Stock and Pete zones, as well as skarn, stockwork and copper-bearing vein occurrences.
The property hosts copper, gold and silver mineralization, associated anomalous cobalt, chromium and zinc values.
The proposed work is intended to advance the Company’s understanding of the geological and geochemical controls on mineralization and help determine priorities for future exploration.
