Independent dance studios face ongoing challenges, often without access to peer support structures. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 20% of small businesses fail in their first year, with the rate rising to nearly 50% by year five. SCORE research further indicates that owners with access to mentors and peer networks are more likely to achieve long-term success. For studio owners juggling instruction, administration, and business management, limited professional connections can increase operational strain.
The 2026 Conference and Expo addresses this directly, with more than 140 sessions spanning movement classes, business strategy, and personal development. Registered attendees gain access to Dance Teacher University, developed in partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, which offers a certification pathway beyond the four-day event.
