Grubhub, Allstate, and Liberty Mutual Alumni Join Honk Board and Company to Scale Technology and GTM Operations

Honk Technologies, a leading technology platform for roadside assistance and accident management, today announced several key leadership additions as the company continues to build on its momentum following its recent acquisition by Frontenac and transaction with CurbsideSOS.

Honk has appointed Ray Schauer as incoming Chief Technology Officer and added Glenn Shapiro to its Board of Directors. The company also announced the addition of three experienced go-to-market and customer-support leaders: Brooke Starks, Dean Costantino and Michael Volpone.

The appointments reinforce Honk’s strategy of combining proven marketplace logistics, deep insurance expertise, and leading technology to improve roadside assistance and accident management for carriers, OEMs, fleets, providers, and motorists nationwide.

“Roadside assistance is a real-time logistics challenge,” said Matt Maloney, Chairman of Honk. “It may look different from food delivery, but the core problem is very similar: match urgent local demand with the right supply, create transparency for every participant, and use data to improve outcomes at scale. Ray helped us solve those problems at Grubhub, and he is exactly the kind of technology leader Honk needs for this next stage.”

Schauer will join Honk in the coming weeks after more than 10 years at Grubhub, where he most recently served as Vice President of Engineering. His work included leading engineering across AI/ML infrastructure, new verticals, corporate and logistics. He also helped modernize major Grubhub systems and led AI-driven initiatives that reduced spending by millions of dollars.

As CTO, Schauer will lead Honk’s technology organization with a focus on dispatch optimization, real-time visibility, provider matching, data transparency, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable enterprise systems.

“Ray brings the rare combination of technical depth, logistics experience, and operating judgment,” said Adam DeWitt, CEO of Honk. “He understands that great marketplace technology is not just software. It is timing, incentives, routing, communication, reliability, and trust. That is the foundation we are building at Honk.”

Honk also added Glenn Shapiro to its Board of Directors. Shapiro is a longtime insurance executive and claims leader who previously served as President of Allstate Insurance Company and Executive Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at Liberty Mutual.

“Glenn brings exactly the customer perspective we want in the boardroom,” DeWitt said. “Insurance carriers are focused on better policyholder experiences, faster resolution, deeper transparency, and lower total cost. Glenn’s firsthand experience will help ensure Honk stays aligned with the operational realities and priorities of the carriers we serve.”

Honk currently supports top insurance carriers nationwide and has consistently earned mid-80s Net Promoter Scores by combining a national provider network with modern dispatch technology, transparent operational data, and a customer-first service model. The company’s platform supports roadside assistance, towing, accident management, and vehicle logistics across a wide range of enterprise customers.

The company is also strengthening its customer-facing organization with the addition of Starks, Costantino, and Volpone.

Dean Costantino - VP, Strategic Growth: Dean brings more than 20 years of partnering with automotive manufacturers, insurers, and other organizations to strengthen customer experiences and build long-term relationships.

Michael Volpone - Director, Client Success: Michael brings more than 25 years helping enterprise customers deliver amazing roadside assistance and creating strong partnerships.

Brooke Starks - Solutions Architect: Brooke has spent more than a decade in technology at Honk, behind the scenes uncovering opportunities to serve customers better and ensuring customer alignment.

“These additions reflect the company we are building,” DeWitt said. “We are bringing together logistics technology, insurance claims experience, and customer leaders who understand the roadside ecosystem. Our goal is simple: give customers better outcomes, more visibility, and a platform they can trust when their policyholders need help most.”
