Ryan Announces Principal Promotions

Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, today announced the promotions of six new principals within the Firm. Those being promoted include:

  • Amanda Goody, Property Tax (Atlanta)
  • Sonja Roman-Molina, Abandoned and Unclaimed Property (Fort Lauderdale)
  • Dana Shipes, Severance Tax (Houston)
  • Raven Shull, Business Development (Dallas)
  • Michael Thompson, Income Tax (Houston)
  • Matt Zagotti, Transaction Tax (Baton Rouge)

Professional Biographical Sketches

Amanda Goody

As a member of Ryan’s Atlanta office, Amanda has been managing, organizing, and administering property tax compliance for national outsourcing clients for more than 18 years. She specializes in personal property compliance services for Ryan’s clients in the manufacturing, retail, healthcare, leasing, and telecommunication industries. She holds a Master of Science degree in taxation from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Southern University.

Sonja Roman-Molina

Based in Ryan’s Fort Lauderdale office, Sonja has more than 14 years of unclaimed property experience across various industries. She specializes in compliance outsourcing, liability quantification, and audit defense and is a frequent speaker on these topics. She originally joined Ryan in the New York office and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in international business and finance from the University of Scranton.

Dana Shipes

Dana has more than 20 years of state and local tax experience. She provides ongoing severance tax and royalty compliance consulting services to a broad sector of multinational clients. She is a graduate of McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. Dana is based out of Ryan’s Houston office.

Raven Shull

Raven has been in Ryan’s Dallas office for more than a decade and works in the business development services group. She has responsibility for selling Ryan’s services globally and managing client relationships throughout the Firm. Raven holds both a Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Michael Thompson

A lawyer and leader of Ryan’s Income Tax practice in Houston, Michael directs a team of professionals dedicated to assisting clients with the calculation and substantiation of research and development tax credits as well as representation through Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authority matters. He holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Houston, a Juris Doctor degree from the South Texas College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

Matt Zagotti

Matt practices in Ryan’s Baton Rouge office and specializes in providing transaction tax services to clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, and hospitality. During his 20 years with Ryan, Matt has been a leading tax professional advising clients on Louisiana and Texas matters. He has a Master of Professional Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, both from The University of Texas at Austin.
