Marquis Who's Who Honors Kristin Acree for Expertise in Public Health

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / February 3, 2026 / Marquis Who's Who Honors Kristin Acree for expertise in public health. A well-known professional in her field, she most recently served as the senior vice president of Health Catalyst, a provider of data and analytics technology and services to health care organizations. While she is currently between positions, Ms. Acree works as a strategic advisor for organizations seeking to improve their structural frameworks or refine their data warehousing platforms. Her near-term goal is to align her skills with an organization that seeks to expand its capabilities in these areas.

About Ms. Kristin Acree

Ms. Acree began her career after graduating from high school, working as an intensive care unit clerk in telemetry technology at IASIS Healthcare. At the time, all systems were manual, and she recorded procedure logs and tracked infection rates using the data she collected.

"I had my first baby at 19, and that was a struggle to be so young and working," Ms. Acree says, "but I've been able to continue working in this field. There were some hard times, but I made it through and came out strong."

Later, Ms. Acree earned a master's degree in epidemiology from the University of Utah in 1999. Throughout her academic career, she continued to work at the same hospital. Eventually, she joined the quality, resource and risk management department. In that role, she again monitored infection rates while educating hospital staff on data analysis.

When Health Catalyst was founded, Ms. Acree joined the organization as a technical director. In that capacity, she advised clients on software functionality, query writing and data retrieval. "There were some rough patches in the very beginning because it was a startup, and as a woman in tech, I had my work cut out for me," Ms. Acree explains.

The Importance of Client Connections

Ms. Acree later took on a position at Health Catalyst, where she interacted with clients on daily and weekly strategies, ensuring client satisfaction across multiple years. She steadily advanced her career within the organization until she was promoted to senior vice president. She is proud of her track record with clients, guiding them to achieve and sustain improvements in their systems, especially as the industry has faced significant challenges in recent years.

"The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything," Ms. Acree says. "We used to meet with our clients every other week as part of our regular business. It's been challenging being more remote and being consultants, because we're not necessarily part of their team like we used to be."

Ms. Acree has also seen smaller independent hospitals face closing their doors if they don't merge with larger entities due to tenuous financial situations. They also struggle to use the data they are generating. Most health care entities want to see quick improvements while also having to cut costs from their budgets.

"It's expensive to buy the system, track the data, and it can be perceived as very expensive to use the data and dedicate the teams to improve. Before COVID-19, our message was a lot easier to take, that when you do the improvements, the money will come, but it takes a long time," Ms. Acree explains. "We, as a technology organization, have had to find ways to get better, faster and cheaper, too."

Advocating for Those Entering the Health Care Industry

Ms. Acree encourages those interested in joining the health care industry to do so in whatever way they can, as there are many different ways to enter the field. She points out how valuable networking has become, as those connections help throughout a career.

Ms. Acree also advises individuals in the field to continue taking courses and become familiar with analytics and data science. There are many opportunities for improvement and to gain the success she has experienced throughout her long professional journey.
