Catch the Trane to 15!

HIGH POINT, NC, April 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Internationally acclaimed vocalist Cyrille Aimée will bring her distinct music style to the 15th John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026 at Oak Hollow Festival Park, High Point, North Carolina. She will deliver a performance that reflects a life shaped by global rhythms, fearless creativity, and a deep-rooted jazz tradition.

Music fans are invited to Catch the Trane to 15 for the fifteenth anniversary of the Labor Day weekend festivities. For a decade and a half the Coltrane JazzFest has hosted world renowned jazz and blues musicians, featured the some of the most engaging Latin Jazz bands and introduced up and coming artists of diverse styles like Aimée's to celebrate the history, legacy, and lasting influence of John Coltrane in his hometown.

"I've been following Cyrille for years and waited for an opportunity to bring her to our Festival," Joe Williams explained. Williams, the Festival's director, believes Aimée is the kind of unique vocalist who is in the category with Samara Joy and Jazzmeia Horn. "She is the perfect blend of old and new musical styles, encapsulated in an infectious, enchanting smile."

For Aimée , music is more than an art form—it is a way of life. Raised in a multilingual, music-filled household in Samois-sur-Seine, France—home to the renowned Django Reinhardt Festival—Aimée was immersed early in a rich blend of cultural influences. By age 20, Aimée had already lived on four continents, bringing a global sensibility to her artistry.

After relocating to New York City and studying at SUNY Purchase, she quickly became a standout voice on the jazz scene—earning accolades for her warm tone, witty improvisation, and emotional depth. She performed with trumpet great Roy Hargrove, captivated audiences at the famed Apollo Theater, and captured First Prize at the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition.

Her artistry soon caught the attention of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim. Her interpretation of Sondheim's work on her album "Move On," earned a Grammy nomination for the song "Marry Me a Little." Her latest Grammy-nominated album, "à Fleur de Peau," reflects a deeply personal journey—blending jazz sophistication, pop accessibility, and Caribbean rhythms. Festivalgoers can expect a captivating performance that embodies the spirit of exploration and innovation synonymous with Coltrane's characteristics.

The John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival honors the great saxophonist and composer in the city where his musical journey began. Over the last 15 years, the festival has hosted some of the biggest names in music, representing the spirit of improvisation, innovation, and cultural excitement including Stanley Clarke, Patti LaBelle, Gregory Porter, Lakecia Benjamin and more.
