RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR
The board of directors (the “Board”) of China Telecom Corporation Limited (the “Company”) announces that due to change in work arrangement, Mr. Shang Bing has resigned as the president, chief operating officer and executive director of the Company with effect from 13 July 2011, and has been appointed as deputy minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Shang Bing has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board and did not have any matters in relation to his resignation that should be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company. The Board would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Shang Bing for his valuable contribution to the Company during his tenure of office.
